Personal Care Assistance

While our Homemakers are expected to perform light housekeeping duties (see Homemaker), our Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) perform both light housekeeping and hands-on assistance to our clients.  To do so, all PCAs must have successfully passed a state-authorized PCA course. 

Plan of Care

Working with each new client (and family members) we develop a Plan of Care unique to each client's particular needs.  Hands-on tasks might include assistance with:

  bathing                         grooming                          dressing                         incontinence                          toileting

  ambulation                    transfers                           bed mobility                   respite                                   and more

A precise schedule of days and times of visits is developed, along with the tasks to be completed on each of those visits.  There is a two hour minimum per visit.  One specific PCA is identified (when possible) to be dedicated to the client.  This approach clearly sets the expectations necessary for us to be successful in our mission.

Billing

We typically invoice our clients at the beginning of each month.  The invoice may be sent to the billing address of the client's choice.  We also offer the convenience of paying by mail or online via the Internet.  Payments may be made by check, credit/debit card, or, online from a checking account.

Employee Screening

As with our Homemakers, all PCAs undergo an extensive background check.  Searches are conducted for:

        Federal Courthouse Records               State Criminal Database               National Criminal File                Motor Vehicle History

        Social Security Verification                 Employment Verification               Personal References                 Credit Files

(All employees are bonded, and, covered by liability and workers' compensation insurance.)
